At Pittodrie Park last' night, before attendance of about 1000, Aberdeen A defeated Elgin City by ten goals to nil. Elgin City, who became amateurs at the beginning of this season, were outplayed from the start, and, if Aberdeen had wished, they might have increased their total. Play had been in progress about fifteen minutes before Smith opened the scoring for Aberdeen, and a few minutes later the same player again beat Dean. The amateurs tried hard to reduce the leeway, but had not the finesse of the Aberdeen players and wasted unnecessary energy. McFarlane scored a third goal, and before the interval added another to bring the total to four. In the second period Elgin attacked vigorously, and H. M. Grant was prominent. The homesters were soon at the other end, however, and Falloon increased the Aberdeen total. A short time afterwards Love scored two more in quick succession and Smith added the other two shortly before the finish. Rothnie, the Elgin inside left, was unfortunate not to score when he struck the crossbar with Blackwell completely beaten.
In the Aberdeen side, Spencer, Love, and Smith were best, while in a poor but plucky eleven, W. Raitt, H. M. Grant, and J. B. Miller were prominent.
