Aberdeen 'A' Win At Huntly

In an Aberdeen and District League fixture at Huntly the Aberdeen second string beat Huntly by three goals to nothing. Both goals were visited in turn, and there was little to choose between the teams in the opening stages. Smith got away on the left for Aberdeen, but his parting shot went high. At the other end McSevich had to save from Ewen. Macfarlane opened Aberdeen's account through a misunderstanding in the Huntly defence. A moment later a header by the same player was tipped over the bar. Smith was again prominent with a lightning shot which went narrowly past, and Aberdeen led at half-time by 1-0. On the resumption, Aberdeen attacked, but the Huntly defence stood up well. Laird was called on save at full length from Spencer. End-to-end play followed with the Aberdeen defence having some anxious moments. Aberdeen forced a corner, and McLeod scored from the resultant kick. Following a mistake in the Huntly defence Smith added a third for Aberdeen. Huntly were rather unfortunate to be beaten by so big a margin.
