The other Aberdeen team was at Fraserburgh, where the local team was beaten by 5 goals to 1. In this case the winners were the superior team, but considering the amount of pressure exerted by Fraserburgh, the margin of victory was out of proportion. Fraserburgh were first to score, a penalty kick against McBoyle being converted by Birnie. Aberdeen were soon on level terms, Stevenson finishing off a clever forward move by beating Shield. Aberdeen continued to hold the advantage in attack, and Forbes quickly put them on the lead, and Fisher, as the result of an individual effort, added a third goal. Fraserburgh were kept on the defensive, and it was largely due to fine clearing by J. McRobbie that the scoring was kept, down. After Shield had saved a splendid shot by Connon, Fisher gained possession, and drawing the goalkeeper out of his charge, crashed the ball into the net. In the interval Fraserburgh made great efforts to make up leeway, but were defied. In the second half Fraserburgh had a much bigger share of attacking, but over-eagerness lost them chances. Lawrie had a capital save from Sim, and a shot by Birnie hit the crossbar. Midway through the period Aberdeen rallied, and Forbes registered a fifth goal with a clever effort. Subsequently Aberdeen were content to rest on their laurels, with the result that their defence was kept busy, but there was no further scoring. For Aberdeen Lawrie kept goal in faultless style, but the backs were none too steady, and Lees was the outstanding player in the intermediate lane. The forwards worked well together, the most conspicuous being Fisher, Stevenson, and Forbes. For Fraserburgh J. McRobbie and Birnie were outstanding in defence, and McDonald and Paterson were the best forwards.
