Aberdeen 2 - 1 Rangers

HT Score: Aberdeen 1 - 0 Rangers

Scottish Reserve League
Aberdeen scorers: McMaster, McMaster.

12/01/1974 | KO: 15:00

This [v St Johnstone away] was followed by our victory over Rangers Reserves who fielded ex Aberdeen player Dave Smith, and fellow Aberdonian Colin Jackson, together with a number of players with first team experience. John McMaster was again on target, scoring the home side's two goals, but this was a real team effort which received good support from the home fans who were delighted by the standard of play in difficult conditions. It was refreshing to see the Young Dons set about their task - everyone pulling out that little extra at the required times.
It would be unfair to pick out individual stars, but there is no doubt that, through injuries and calls for the 1st Eleven, youngsters like J. Hather, J. McMaster and D. Davidson have been given the opportunity of a steady game, from which they have greatly benefited.
