Reserves Run Saints Ragged

In the Saturday game Dons were on top of Saints from the start and a 2-0 half-time lead was set up by Simpson and an own goal forced by some good approach work by Ian Porteous who scored himself after the break. Strangely the second-half started quietly for Aberdeen with St Mirren threatening to get on top and maybe sneak a goal back but then Andy McLeod, who had come on as substitute for McArthur who had taken something of a hard time, made it 3-0 and it was all one way from then on. McLeod was then brought down for Wright to score from the spot and Simmie got the third for a result which helped to show that the club's second team have the title in their sights.
