New Boy Scanlon Hits The Woodwork

On Saturday we held a strong Celtic team to a no-scoring draw, which we consider a good result.
Although there were no goals, it was an exciting game, with many near things at both goals. The nearest being an Ian Scanlon left foot shot from all of 30 yds which crashed back off the post with the goalkeeper beaten. Both goalkeepers played well under difficult conditions.
Young Andy Dornan playing at right back had a very good game, his defensive work was faultless and he was always willing to join in the attack.
Neil Cooper and Chic McLelland were also defensive stalwarts, their experience taking us out of some difficult situations.. If out midfield trio had been a bit more careful with their passing, I'm sure we could have scored some goals.
Wee George Campbell gave both the Celtic full backs a rough time, he had spells on the right and left wings. he was also unlucky with two attempts at scoring.
