Another Cup-Tie Defeat For Aberdeen

Aberdeen have lost interest in the Scottish Second XI. Cup competition, Kilmarnock "A" beating them in the third round at Rugby Park by 3 goas to 1. Kilmarnock scored in the first minute, Paterson netting from close in. Subsequently Falloon and McKenzie went close for Aberdeen, but gradually Kilmarnock took the upper hand. Aitken added a second goal from a pass by Weir, and near the interval the latter put his team three ahead.
After the interval Aberdeen showed improvement, and were rewarded by a goal from Merrie, who scored from close range. Leslie, the Kilmarnock left back, was injured and had to retire, and following this the home defence was kept on the stretch. Latterly Kilmarnock were frequently attacking but towards the close Aberdeen made determined efforts, and Merrie should have scored from easy position.
