Reverse For Aberdeen

Aberdeen "A" fell to the Alliance League leaders at Tynecastle, being defeated by two goals to one. Aberdeen were the first to be dangerous, Gilfillan having to hold a dangerous shot from Miller. At the other end, Blackwell did well to save a shot from Henderson. A minute later a great shot by Gourley beat Blackwell, only to strike the upright. Aberdeen again came to the attack, and Gilfillan turned aside shots from McHale and Smith. Aberdeen continued to play well, but went in arrears when Edgar scored for Hearts. On the resumption, Blackwell distinguished himself by saving time and again. Finally, however. Gourlay put the homesters further ahead off a corner. Aberdeen rallied after this further reverse, and Smith succeeded in beating Gilfillan with a fine effort. End to end play followed until the end.
