Aberdeen 3 - 1 Partick Thistle

Scottish Alliance League
Aberdeen scorers: Doolan, Doolan, Doolan.
Partick Thistle scorers: Torbet

12/12/1925 | KO: 14:15

A "hat trick" by Doolan gave the Aberdeen reserves victory in their Alliance encounter with Partick Thistle "A" at Pittodrie on Saturday. The score was 3 goals to 1, and Aberdeen fully deserved their win. They were none too convincing in the first half, but improved after the resumption, and almost walked through the opposition. The forwards as a whole did well, Doolan and Love being the most prominent, while Cheyne showed himself a youngster full of promise. Doolan has the virtue of being able to keep his place, and is always up with the ball. He is a hustler throughout, and properly nursed should develop into a centre much above the average. Forbes, after a shaky start, found his game, and was a useful attacker. Pelan was tricky, but played too much to the gallery. The half line was strong, Pirie being a hard worker from start to finish. The backs, however, did not appear too comfortable, but were comparatively safe. McSevich had no chance of stopping the shot by Torbet that scored. It was from the winger that most trouble came, but his speed was his greatest asset. The custodian also did well to save a penalty from the same player. Attendance 4000.
