ABERDEEN PLAYER'S SCORING FEAT

By 11 goals to 1 Aberdeen A defeated Aberdeen University in an Aberdeen and District League match at Pittodrie yesterday before 500 spectators. After the first twenty minutes, during which the students spent themselves, the game became one sided, and although the losers were plucky, they were simply no match for their cleverer and better trained opponents. A feature of the game was the prolific scoring by Ritchie, who essayed the centre-forward position for Aberdeen A. He scored no fewer than seven goals in succession, and might even have increased that total. Main started off counting, and Moir got through to equalise cleverly for the University. Subsequently Ritchie registered three goals in succession before the interval, when Aberdeen A led by 4-1. In the second half Ritchie scored other four goals and Main, Grant, and Dick brought the total up to 11. There was no comparison between the teams, and the weakest side the University have fielded at Pittodrie for many a day. Dr Dugan, Edwards, and Moir were the only members of the side whose play is worthy of mention. Aberdeen A all played well, but were never really stretched after the opening minutes.
