Reserves Do Well

The Aberdeen Reserve team accomplished a smart performance in sharing Scottish Alliance points with Clyde Reserves at Shawfield Park, Glasgow, each side scoring once. On run of the game the Aberdeen team was unfortunate in just failing to take full points, as it was only in the closing stages that the home team equalised after the Pittodrie players had had the better of the exchanges. Both teams showed good work in the opening half. Aberdeen had attacked persistently, and had hit the uprights before Macdonald counted for them close upon the interval. A dour struggle developed in the second half, and the defenders on each side were seen to advantage. Near the end Aitken got through the equaliser for Clyde with a long shot. Sutherland, Ness, Lees, and Robertson were always prominent in the Aberdeen defence, and Connon, Macdonald, and McLaughlin were the best of the forwards.
