In a spirited encounter under Scottish Alliance auspices at Pittodrie Aberdeen A defeated Hamilton Academicals A by 3 goals to 2, Stevenson for the home team registering the " hat- trick." Aberdeen started off well, Stevenson obtaining an early goal after Connon had hit the upright. The lead was not long maintained, Lawrie, the home goalkeeper, failing to hold the greasy ball and allowing a soft shot by Winters to find the net. Midway through the period Referee Bell stopped the play to draw the attention of the Aberdeen Club officials to persistent barracking by a section of the spectators. Lawrie had a daring save when he threw himself at the feet of an opposing forward about to shoot. Near the interval the home team literally bombarded the visitors' goal, but at half-time there was no further scoring. The visitors opened the second half in spirited fashion, and Brown gave them the lead. After this the home forwards and half-backs took the game in hand, and it was only in accordance with what was deserved when Stevenson put the teams level. Afterwards play ruled entirely in favour of Aberdeen, and Stevenson secured the winning goal. Attendance 5000.
