Reserves Draw At Beith

The Aberdeen Reserve team were a Beith in a Scottish Reserve League fixture, and did well to divide the points by effecting a draw, each side scoring once.
Aberdeen won the toss, and kicked with the wind. Caldwell set the game in motion for the homesters, but Watson cleared.
Play continued in midfield till Ramsay beat Hannah and skimmed the bar. King kicked well, and play was taken into the home territory, and Edgar tested Herbertson with a fine shot, which he cleared. Aberdeen, with the wind, were having the best of exchanges, but could not make any impression on the Beith defence, while offside against Neilson spoiled a likely chance. Beith returned, and Hannah had to concede a corner, which King cleared, Dickson making ground on the right. The left wing was again in evidence, and a fine wing combination was the outcome of an attack on the Beith goal, Herbertson clearing. Beith got away, and, from a cross by Ramsay, Caldwell scored a good goal. Edgar again tested the home goalkeeper. Aberdeen kept the homesters confined, but Dickson send past. A foul for Beith was easily cleared. Aberdeen again got away, and Dickson tested Herbertson, while Neilson lost a good chance through hesitating too long. Bannerman got away, but Hannah cleared. The game was of the give-and-take order. Morrison almost got through, and tested Herbertson, who again cleared. A fine cross from Neilson was sent past. Aberdeen were having the best of the exchange's, but a foul went against them, while the wind carried passed a find try by Neilson. The backs of both teams were very safe, and kicked by good length. Beith got away, and Urquhart send past, while King had to clear from Caldwell. The Aberdeen left wing were always in evidence, and Edgar lifted the ball over the bar close in, while another cross was cleared by Doolan. And the other end, Ramsay failed at an easy chance, and two chances by Sharp were cleared by King. Aberdeen got away, and Herbertson had again to handle from McIntosh, and Edgar had hard lines with a fine shot.

Aberdeen opened the second. Strongly, but the exchanges were quiet till Low sent past. Doolan let the homesters away, but Harper stepped in and cleared. Back they came, and King saved a good shot from Caldwell. King effected a great save with two men on the top of him, the ball coming in from Sharp. Dixon got away on the right, and sent across, and Douglas headed the equaliser shortly after the start. There was no further scoring.
