Falkirk 3 - 1 Aberdeen

ABERDEEN did not enjoy a good day against Falkirk at Brockville Park where they were beaten 3-1 yesterday. The ground was frostbound, and the Dons took no chances. On the other hand, Falkirk went at it hammer and tongs and defied the slippery conditions
They were adventurous to the danger degree, but what they tried came off. While the Bairns deserved their victory there was not a two-goal margin in the %nme.

A notable feature was the clever movements of Hamilton at inside forward for the Dons. Pattillo was allowed few chances by Falkirk's big centre-half, Henderson who "policed" him from the start. But the Aberdeen centre made the most of one "slip" by the home pivot, and the ball went into the net as if shot from a catapult.
Dunlop was the best of the Aberdeen mid-line. Kiddie had a quiet game at outside right, and Baird was not quite to his recent "international" form.
Falkirk opened the scoring after eighteen minutes through Brady. From free kick, Dunlop and Brooks rose together for the ball, which fell between them. Brady nipped in and slipped the ball past Henderson. Ten minutes from the interval Pattillo gave Carrie no chance when he fastened on to the ball fifteen yards out after the centre-half had slipped.
But the best goal of the game came a minute from the interval, when Brooks scored a beauty following a fine forward movement bv Brady.

Falkirk in Luck,/p> Early in the second half, Aberdeen made a bold bid for the equaliser, but Kiddie's goal-line effort was miraculously cleared bv Carrie.
With twenty minutes gone Fitzsimmons, with a long shot, sealed Aberdeen's fate, in a valiant effort to catch the ball, Henderson bumped his head against the upright and had to receive attention.
The "Bairns" had another "let-off" when McCall. who had worked over to the right, smashed a dazzling shot against the upright. It was clearly not the Dons' lucky day.
Carrie, Falkirk's young keeper, a product of Dundee Violet, gave a favourable display in which he received his First League baptism.
Charlie Napier and Macaulay, Falkirk's international half-backs, were displaced bv Ogilvie and Gallacher.
