Aberdeen 2 - 0 Dunfermline Athletic

FOOTBALL followers in Aberdeen and Dundee are to be provided with New Year fare of the best quality.
The Pittodrie and Dens teams have qualified for the final of ihe Supplementary Cup, which will be played on Saturday. The teams meet again on New Year's Day in a League game at Pittodxie.

The clubs failed to come to satisfactory agreement with regards to the venue the Cup Final, and now it has been left in the hands of Mr John MvArthur, East Fife, president of the League, and Mr George Graham. S.F.A. secretary, who is also secretary of the League, to settle the matter. A decision will be given to-day.
Aberdeen just managed to get through to the final against dunfermline by the odd goal in five over the two games in the semi0final. Yet it must said in fairness to the Dons that, but for injuries to five of their players, they would have beaten the Athletic at Pittodrie by a much greater margin than two clear goals.
Dunlop was crippled in the first half, and Munro, Bremner and Williams were injured to such an extent in the second half that they were of little use to their side. Pattillo, too, was limping for a time. Considering that they finished the game with six fit mem the Dons deserved their success. They put up a tremendous fight against great odds.

Kept Their Grip

In the first half, when Pattillo and Williams scored, the Dons were definitely on top and even when playing under a great handicap they were not inferior to the visitors.
Of the two goalkeepers, Allan for Dunfermline had more to do than Johnstone. He certainly saved the Athletic from a heavier defeat. Johnstone played his part well.
Cooper was the best back afield, although Newman, a player with a big reputation, played soundly for the visitors.
Dunlop took the honours at haif-back but Taylor and Russll were grand in the second half. Ellis was the best of the visiting trio.
Forward, chief credit must go to Pattillo, even although he missed one great scoring chance. Miller, too, was a trier and a worker.Williams had an excellent first half.
The Dunfermline five were not a happy combination. They were full of running, but they had not the ability to break down the Dons' defensive barrier.
