A crowd of about 2000 witnessed the charity fixture between Aberdeen and Dundee at Pittodrie. Rain fell throughout the game, and there was not much to enthuse over in the play.

Dundee lost the toss and played two wards the city. After some midfield play Brown got off and transferred to the left, but Aberdeen defence got the ball away. Anderson was once are twice called upon to save his charge. The Aberdeen right wing became threatening, but Thomson and Stirling successfully intervened. Dundee pressed, and Calder gave away a corner, which, however, brought no advantage to the visitors. After a period of uneventful give-and-take play, Dundee cut into range and Brown shot, but Anderson easily saved. The goalkeeper was again tested a minute or two later. Mackay had a run for Aberdeen, but sent the ball out of play when tackled by Thomson. Aberdeen's left wing made progress, and Duff sent into Fraser, who saved, with Cumming in close attendance upon him. Dundee's turn came again, and Lamb tried a long shot, but Anderson cleared.

On the resumption, end-to-end play was witnessed. Aberdeen got through the opposing lines, but Cumming sent behind. Dundee transfer of play and forced a corner, without result. Robertson and tough raided, but Ferguson came to the rescue. Dundee again attacked, and Brown beat Anderson with a soft-looking shot. The goalkeeper touched the ball, but could not hold it. Aberdeen had a dashing run, and duff crossed smartly, but Fraser cleared in faultless style.
