A point away from home is always supposed to mean quite a good performance, but the draw obtained last Saturday by the Dons could not be classed as a very satisfactory effort. In the first half Aberdeen showed all the touches of "class" and occasion were somewhat unfortunate not to take the lead, but as the minutes wore on and the visitors failed to open the scoring, one could sense that the homesters were beginning to take heart and that they might be difficult to overcome in the end. With their goalkeeper off for the whole of the second half, Dunfermline were badly handicapped and the Dons ought to have done better than a 2-2 draw - even though they were possibly a little unfortunate to lose their second goal in the very last minute of the game. However, it's no use moping over what height have been. The Dons must just make up their minds to get back that "killer instinct" that they had before. The players, who are always keen to improve their game and are nothing if not self-critical, will doubtless have had the game well discussed with Manager Shaw by this time and will be making every effort to eradicate any faults.
