THE Dons are certainly leading a Jekyll and Hyde existence in Scottish football this season. One week they command praise by a bright display and the next they unexpectedly let you down with a bump.
They hadn’t much excuse to offer for the loss of the point to Raith Rovers at Pittodrie on Saturday. They should have been up 4-0 at half-time.
Even with their two goal lead they had played with enough sparkle to suggest that they had the points nicely tied up and labelled “not for export.”

THE finger of suspicion pointed to the Aberdeen defence in the second half. So long as the Dons were on top they looked good enough.
When they lost a penalty goal three minutes after the interval traces of panic were visible amongst the rearguard.
The marking was bad and this was particularly noticeable at the taking of throw-ins.
Martin in goal might have been criticised when he missed the cross which led to Raith Rovers’ opening goal.

BOTH McKenna and Shaw appeared to lose confidence in the second half, and Lowrie and Harris were not the same dominating wing half-backs I saw against Stirling Albion.
Thomson was Aberdeen's best defender and his strength and resourcefulness must have impressed the Huddersfield representative.
The Dons' attack was lively enough in the opening period. They played quick, accurate football in the outfield. Hamilton as leader of the line was in his most inspiring mood.

ALL credit to Raith for their grand second half fight back. Their forwards had not been impressive in the opening period, but they found the missing pep after the change over.
Johnstone frustrated the Dons' best efforts to snatch the winning goal in the closing stages
McNaught played well at back, but the key men in the revival were the wing half-backs, Young and Leigh, and I thought the former put up a first-rate display.
