A vast improvement in the young Dons’ forward play will be required if they are to beat Hibs "A," whom they meet in the quarter-final replay the "C" Division League Cup at Pittodrie on Saturday.
But it is, perhaps, unfair to judge the players on the drab, end-of-season football they produced last night against Stirling Albion "A." whom they beat 1-0 in the last "C" League game of the season at Pittodrie.
Albion were worthy of a draw, if only as a reward for their attempts to liven up the match in the second half.
The Aberdeen defence, however, far outshining the home attack, were giving nothing away.
The only excitement came with the only goal. Ewen, taking a free-kick outside the penalty area, curled the ball to Kelly, whose well-placed header found the net.
