Curran Saved Side From Bigger Defeat

THE young Dons were beaten 5-1 on Saturday, but then Dundee would probably have beaten any team in the Reserve League. The better balanced Dundee team adapted themselves quicker to the tricky surface, and had greater punch in attack.

For about half an hour Aberdeen held their own, but once the home team got a grip they never released it.
The visitors impressed with their approach work, but the sound defensive work of Gray and Ancell allowed Harris and his front line colleagues little scope.
The Aberdeen defence had to shoulder the burden, and, although Curran conceded five, he saved his side time and again with crisp, confident handling.

Massie Safe

Massie was a safe defender, but Ashe and Thomson had an uncomfortable passage against the brilliant left wing pair, Gerrie and Andrews.
Malloch opened the home account in eighteen minutes. Shortly afterwards Bennett and Court left Robb's shot to each other, and the ball sped into an empty net.
Christie and Gerrie gave Dundee a 3-1 interval lead.
The Aberdeen backs changed position on the resumption. But within twenty seconds Malloch scored, and Stewart followed with another.
