Trialists Impress For Young Dons

TYPICAL end-of-ihe-season fare was served up in the Reserve League match at Pittodrie on Saturday when Aberdeen and St Mirren shared the points.
In the second half the Dons failed completely to turn outfield superiority into goals.
Brightest feature of an otherwise drab encounter was the display the Dons' trialists. Houston (Newarthill) brought off some grand saves. Dryburgh (Lochgelly Albert), on the left wing, seemed to be the only home forward willing to have a try.
Both goals came within nine minutes of the start. Saints opened the scoring when Telford took advantage of a defensive lapse, but Waldron soon equalised when he headed home a Preston free kick.
