Rangers "A" Defeated 4-0 in Fast Game

Aberdeen A are shaping well in their bid to retain the Alliance League championship. On Saturday they displayed grand form in mastering the Rangers reserves in a grand tussle at Pittodrie to retain the League leadership.

It was a fast and interesting game, in which the Young Dons showed sparkling form. They combined well, were all over the stronger side, and ran out worthy winners. The Young Dons had only slightly the better of matters in the first half, but were definitely superior through the second period.
Scott, the home leader, was in fine form, and capped a splendid afternoon's work by scoring a hat-trick. The centre was well supported by his other forwards, particularly Warnock, who was in splendid form on the right-wing.
The Young Dons were well served in all departments. Another of their players who did splendidly was Dunlop, who was a grand stopper and defensive player in his new role of centre half. He gave Campbell, the opposing centre, little scope.
Dick Donald, whom Aberdeen signed on Friday, put in some good work at left-half, while Devine also did well at right-half. Johnstone, Temple and Urquhart were an effective back trio.
The best Ibrox men were McAulay and Turnbull, the inside forwards, who inspired most of their attacks. McKillop was the best half-back, while Cheyne and Drysdale were good backs. Cheyne, however, had his name taken.
The Young Dons took the lead after twenty-three minutes, Scott finding the net off a Warnock header.
The second half was seventeen minutes old when the homesters increased their lead, Scott again being the marksman. Eight minutes later, the Aberdeen centre completed his hat-trick, when he flashed past Stewart to put the ball out of Jenkins' reach. A snap goal Brown completed the scoring.
