Aberdeen 'A' Have To Fight Hard

Half-Hour That Brought Victory

Aberdeen A had a hard fight to wrest the Scottish Alliance points from Hamilton A at Pittodrie.

All the scoring took place in the first half-hour. Devers and Westland counted for the homesters, and Kelly notched the visitors' goal.
Aberdeen A made most of the running in the second half, but could not again break through Hamilton's defence.
Though less dangerous in attack, Hamilton never gave up hope of saving a point, and Douglas Westland, in the home goal, was called upon to make several difficult clearances.

Best Forward

Devers, the home centre, was the best forward on view. He was full of dash and was always ready for a shot. The manner in which he tricked the defence to give his side the lead after ten minutes' play was masterly.
Conwell and J. Westland were forcing inside men. Johnston was the better extreme winger.
Gavin, at centre-half, was again the best middle man. Norman Smith, the Banks o' Dee player, who was on his third trial, did not have a very happy time of it ini the first half, but he came away strongly after the cross over.
Douglas Westland kept a safe goal.

A Real Star

Hamilton were strong in defence, Drummond in goal, being outstanding. McGourty was a real star at centre-half, and forwards Gallacher, Miller and Hepburn were lively raiders.
