Kilmarnock Not Good Enough.
The Aberdeen reserves showed something like their old form at Rugby Park, where they beat Kilmarnock "A" by the odd goal in five. Aberdeen had the better of the opening exchanges, and with nineteen minutes gone Merrie opened the scoring. Subsequent exchanges favoured the Kilmarnock eleven, but weak shooting lost them many chances. The Aberdeen team moved harmoniously, and before the interval Merrie had again beaten Wilson. The Rugby Park side made a great recovery in the second half, and goals by Culley and Marshall put them on level terms. The battle waged fiercely after this, but Aberdeen got in the decisive blow through Oliphant.Source: Press & Journal, 3rd February 1930
