Hat-trick For Aberdeen 'A' Player

In a Highland League match at Pittodrie last night Aberdeen "A" defeated Buckie Thistle by 3 goals to 1. There were about 2500 spectators, and these were entertained to an interesting struggle. The winners were easily the better team, yet the spasmodic rushes by the Buckie attackers were always fraught with danger to the home defence. All the winners' goals were registered by Forbes, the centre forward, who not only shot well, but distributed the ball judiciously. He opened the scoring early on, and following a fine centre by Grant, scored a second goal before the interval. Early in the second half, after clever play by Grant, Forbes completed his hat trick, and just on time McIntosh got through to count for Buckie following a free kick. For the Thistle, George Anderson, the ex-Aberdeen goalkeeper, played a sterling game, effecting many fine saves. Garden, was the better back, and Middleton the pick of the middle division. ln the attack, McIntosh, Esslemont, and Murray were best. Aberdeen held the upper hand in all departments. Cunningham was not seriously tested, and was well protected by K. Sutherland and D. Bruce. Davidson was the pick of the halves, with Pirie a good second, and in attack, Forbes, Grant, and Main were most effective, although Bruce and Miller were clever inside supports.
