Aberdeen 'A' Win At Buckie

In a Highland League match at Victoria Park, Buckie, last night, played before a good attendance, Aberdeen "A" beat Buckie Thistle by 2 goals to 1.

Thistle kicked off against a bright sun, but the visitors soon took up the attack. The home backs held out well against brilliant wing play and smart work by Paton in the centre. Wood brought off several capital saves. At the other end Esslemont had hard lines with a shot that struck the bar. It was only about five minutes from the interval when the Aberdeen pressure told. A centre from Grant was picked up by Paton who gave Wood no chance.

In the second half Buckie showed improved form, and were early at the Aberdeen goal. A try by McIntosh struck the post, and next minute Dickie sent past with an open goal before him. The period was well advanced when Aberdeen increased their lead, Paton heading through a cross from the left. Thistle responded spiritedly, and Esslemont shot through from the wing, the ball slipping through Cunningham's hands just over the line. Buckie strove hard to equalise and kept the Aberdeen defence busy to the end without effect. A hard match ended: Aberdeen "A," 2; Buckie Thistle, 1.
