By the odd goal in three Aberdeen were beaten by Raith Rovers in a Scottish Alliance game at Kirkcaldy. Connon opened the scoring for Aberdeen, but Dawson quickly equalised. The winning goal was obtained midway through the second half, McConnachie scoring with brilliant shot, after Lawrie had saved repeatedly from Dawson and Newman. In the later stages the of the game the Pittodrie team had much the better of the exchanges, Connon and Fisher having many fine runs, but at close quarters the forwards lacked penetrative power. In an Aberdeen team that on the run of the game should at least have drawn Lawrie, Lees, Connon and Fisher were best.
