Fraserburgh 0 - 2 Aberdeen

In the semi-final of the Aberdeenshire Cup competition Aberdeen defeated Fraserburgh at Bellslea Park by 2 goals to 0. Throughout the play was of a particularly fast nature, and the result was quite a fair reflex of the run of the game. Aberdeen opened the scoring after half-an-hour, when, following clever play by Yule, Grant beat Shield with a fast shot. Both goals were well visited before the interval, but this was the only goal of the period. There was no slackening of pace in the second half, in which Fraserburgh started off well, but they could not beat down the strong defence of the visitors. At the end of fifteen minutes Yule, who made his first appearance for three months, wrenched the knee that been has been giving him trouble, and he had to be carried off. After his departure Fraserburgh pressed for a time, but they failed to make good their advantage. Five minutes from the end Robertson put the issue beyond doubt by Putting Aberdeen two up. In the closing stages Fraserburgh pressed, and were awarded a penalty, but the shot was brilliantly saved by Lawrie. Aberdeen were worthy winners, and were splendidly served by Lawrie, Robertson, Lees, Yule, Grant, and Stevenson. For Fraserburgh the outstanding players were - Shield, Buchan, Walker, Robertson, and MacDonald.
