Peterhead 0 - 3 Aberdeen

HT Score: Peterhead 0 - 2 Aberdeen

08/10/1904 | KO:

The Peterhead team had the Aberdeen A eleven as visitors in the Recreation Park on Saturday afternoon. There was a strong breeze blowing from goal to goal during the first half, but it felt good bit after half time. The visitors kicked off with the wind in their favour, and the ball had only been rolling for about three minutes when Brown opened the scoring for Aberdeen. The locals made a brilliant attack, but Ross missed the goal. A strong tussle then took place at the locals' goal, but Davidson cleared. Again the locals' forwards broke away but the strangers' backs were too much for them, and nothing resulted. Aberdeen again retaliated, and were successful in securing two corners, which proved fruitless. The Peterhead forwards at this time made some very good runs, but the strong headwind which they had to contend with prevented accurate shooting, and a failed to find the net. The strangers then took up the attack, and Ruddiman gave Lamb, the Peterhead custodian, a stinger, which he saved an excellent style. Soon after, however, Brown added point two to Aberdeen, and when the whistle brew for half time the scores stood at Aberdeen, 2; Peterhead, 0.

On resuming play the locals dashed off towards their opponents' goal, but Willox was in his place, and cleared beautifully. The ball now travelled from end to end of the field, and although no goals were scored on either side, both goalkeepers were called to attention several times. About 10 minutes from the finish a smart shot from the right wing of the A team found its way into the net. No further scoring took place, and when time was called the Aberdonians where leading by 3 goals to nothing.
