Motherwell 'A' Beaten

Aberdeen Reserves' Great Recovery.

A wholehearted display by Aberdeen "A" resulted in the defeat of Motherwell reserves by four goals to two at Pittodrie.
The visitors had slightly the better of the exchanges in the first period, and led at the interval by the odd goal in three.
The boot was on the other foot in the second half, when the home reserves made a wonderful recovery.
Exchanges were even at the start, Watson heading past the Aberdeen end, and a shot by Paterson going narrowly over at the other. A smart movement by the home left wing resulted in Warnock shooting against Frame.
In a spirited Motherwell attack Cumming saved from Mclnally, and McCafferty missed by inches. Paterson, Dickie, and Warnock had fine movement, which resulted in Merrie heading home the winger's cross.
The visitors attacked vigorously, and Watson got through, but shot to the waiting Cumming. Motherwell continued in the aggressive, and with thirty-seven minutes gone Watson first-timed a Finlayson lob into the net.
Until the interval Aberdeen attacked, but retired a goal down.

Aberdeen on Top.

From the resumption the homesters took matters in hand, and there were several thrilling incidents before Paterson headed the equaliser.
Merrie had the ball in the net, but the goal was chalked off for offside.
Hard knocks were given and taken after this, but Aberdeen still held the advantage.
Offside again robbed Aberdeen of a goal, when Warnock netted. The winger made siccar a few minutes later, however, when he headed in after Frame had run out to clear.
In a Motherwell breakaway Cumming saved from Watson, who was ever ready to grasp an opportunity.
The Pittodrie team played grand football, and the visitors' goal had several narrow escapes. In the closing minutes Burke rushed to meet a Warnock cross and net Aberdeen's fourth goal.
