Aberdeen Reserves win the Aberdeenshire Cup 7-5 on aggregate

Beating Fraserburgh at Pittodrie by 3 goals to 1 in the second of the home and home finals. Aberdeen A retained the Aberdeenshire Cup for the thirteenth year in succession. The previous meeting at Fraserburgh resulted in draw of 4-4, so that the goals aggregates for the two games are - Aberdeen 7, Fraserburgh 5.
Although they were well beaten, Fraserburgh put up a surprisingly good fight, their defence throughout touching a high standard, and carrying off the honours in the game.
Following a corner, David gave Aberdeen an early lead, but a mistake by Jackson let James Davidson through to beat Yuill from close in. Aberdeen subsequently had the better of the exchanges, and Anderson distinguished himself in the Fraserburgh goal.
It was not against the run of the play when Falloon re-established Aberdeen's lead after a free kick by himself had been blocked.
n the second half Aberdeen made most of the running, but their forwards were weak, and with the Fraserburgh halfs and backs tackling whole-heartedly the attackers were often at sixes and sevens. Dickie from close in put the issue beyond doubt, but Fraserburgh continued to fight pluckily until the close.

After the match the trophy was handed over to the Aberdeen Club by Mr. J. Milne, president of the Aberdeenshire F.A., and was accepted on behalf the club directors by Mr J. Whitehead.
