Lewis United 0 - 4 Aberdeen

Friendly
Aberdeen scorers: Thomson, Thomson, Adams, Adams.

04/08/1993 | KO: 19:30

On either side of United's visit, the Pittodrie reserves maintained their winning sequence in warm-up friend-lies by beating local junior sides Lewis United and Sunnybank, with all four outfield substitutes being called into action on each occasion. In the 4-0 victory over a Lewis United side, which included two more Aberdeen signings in Kevin Christie and Tommy Corkan, goals fell to Scott Thomson and Derek Adams in each half of the game, Adams being denied a hat-trick by the woodwork. Martin Hick, who started the Lewis game at right back, sustained an early injury and was replaced by Greig McCulloch. The same substitution had to be made against Sunnybank five days later when Hick's injury reasserted itself. This time, goals by Colin Milne and Roy Aitken gave the Dons side a comfortable victory on difficult underfoot conditions at Heatheryfold.
