New Firm honours are even

Aberdeen's long-running rivalry with Dundee United is not confined to the first teams of the two clubs whose achievements have earned them distinction as the "New Firm".
The competition is just as keen between their respective reserve squads, and this gave added spice to two recent Dons-United reserve team clashes - with each club able to take satisfaction from one of the results!
A 2-2 draw with United in a Premier Reserve League fixture at Pittodrie contributed to Aberdeen pipping their Tannadice rivals for third place in the final table, behind Old Firm pair Rangers and Celtic, while, five days later, United, having already clinched the East Reserve League title, followed up the pre-match presentation of the trophy with a celebratory 4-1 Tannadice win over the young Dons in their concluding East Reserve League fixture.
Aberdeen actually took more credit from the 2-2 draw at Pittodrie than the scoreline might suggest, considering that no fewer than eight of the 13 players they had on duty were members of their Under-18 squad.
Player-coach, Neil Cooper, felt that the Pittodrie youngsters accorded their more experienced opponents too much respect in the first half and this contributed to Aberdeen falling two goals in arrears at one stage.
A spirited fightback, however, saw the young Dons narrow the gap through Scott Thomson before teenager Derek Adams, coming on as a substitute for his Premier Reserve League debut, hit a spectacular equalising goal in 76 minutes.
Another of the young players to impress in Aberdeen's second-half improvement was Vinny Rae.
