Aberdeen Shocked
Despite having Scott Booth and Eoin Jess in the line-up to add a touch of experience, the third team were beaten 4-2 by Arbroath in an East Reserve League game at Gayfield.
The Angus club fielded a big, strong side, but the young Dons contributed to their own downfall with a disappointing performance, too many of the players having an "off" night at the same time. The match completed an unhappy weekend for Andy Roddie. Booked in the Premier Reserve League game against Dundee United on the Saturday, Andy suffered a dislocated shoulder midway through the first half at Arbroath two days later. He was, however, able to return home with the rest of the squad after a visit to hospital. In arrears for most of the game, the visitors twice cut the deficit to a single goal, but Arbroath regained a two-goal advantage on each occasion. Booth played a part in both Aberdeen goals, scored by Colin Milne and lain Nisbet.
