Young Dons Trialist Has Good Game

A GOOD game for both teams. One point each, two centre forward discoveries, and Aberdeen have the satisfaction of knowing that Johnny Bruce is fighting fit.

In their dark-haired Newman Aberdeen have found a natural. His determination and gusto caused many a flutter in the home defence.
United, too, backed a winner in young Wilson of the local Stobswell. The centre forward trialist capped an impressive display with a well-taken goal.
Johnny Bruce, former Dundee wing half, passed a severe fitness test by effectively breaking up a smooth Dunsmore-Cruickshank combine.
The Don made his first appearance after a four-month lay-off.
Despite attempts at constructive play a half gale had a big say in the matter of style, and an even bigger say in goal getting. Indeed, the wind awarded a goal to each team.
The first it gave to Aberdeen in the second minute. Edmiston ballooned a clearance and Lamond was waiting to send a cross to Newman who scored with a soft counter.
United's second - Wilson had scored in the seventh minute - surprised everybody. Morrison, on the right wing, attempted a cross to Cruickshank on the left. The wind, however, caught the ball and swung it low into the back of the net.
The Northern men scored the last goal a minute from half-time. Lamond was the marksman, following a Baikie corner.
