On the whole, the Scottish Alliance match between Aberdeen "A" and Hibs "A" at Pittodrie, was a scrappy affair. Still, the young "Dons" fully deserved their convincing victory of four goals to one. Their bag would have been larger but for the splendid display given by Wilson, the Inverurie lad, in the goal. When Aberdeen bombarded his goal for the greater part of the second half, he saved his side time and again. Smith had two great goals in the second half. Both were characteristic of the outside left. With terrific force he whipped them through a group of players into the net. Lawson's headed goal, off a cross by Miller, however, was the best of the bunch. The other goal they secured - their first - was from a penalty by Miller. MacFarlane had a shot for goal, and it was going all the way, but struck McGinnigle?s hand. Donald was shaky in the Aberdeen goal, and a mix up between him and Spencer gave Hibs their only point. Jackson was the better of the backs, while the halves were fairly sound, although none came up to Findlay, the Hibs pivot. Miller and Smith of Aberdeen, and Wilkie of Hibs were the only forwards of note. McFarlane, opportunist though was, was given little rope by Findlay.
