Jimmy Lawson, of Dundee football club, received his "benefit" last night at Dens Park, when Dundee met Aberdeen.

The toss was won by Dundee, and the dark blues immediately made progress, the forwards combining nicely, but were weak at goal. A raid on the home citadel almost brought a goal to Aberdeen, Main heading narrowly over, while another chance was missed by Walker whose guide the ball when well placed. The Aberdeen forwards were more dangerous than their opponents at goal. Wylie had a great shot, which was saved splendidly by Barkley. The first half was evenly contested, and at the interval there was no scoring.

On the resumption, Aberdeen pressed, and but for Lyall, would have scored on several occasions. Towards the finish, Dundee bombarded the Aberdeen goal, and did all but score. A hard drive from Steven was saved under the bar in fine style by Barclay.
