Young Dons A Team Without A Plan

A TEAM without a plan, sums up Aberdeen "A" who lost 2-1 against the Motherwell reserves at Pittodrie.

But injuries to Merchant and Kiddie, which necessitated positional changes, upset things, and the Young Dons developed a looseness that, even in the circumstances, was almost inexcusable.
Kelly, McKenzie, Clark and Waddell took the defensive honours, and only Wallbanks of a ragged front line showed anv real initiative. Hume was missed badly.
Motherwell were lucky to be two up inside half an hour, although their teamwork was streets ahead of the hit-and-run methods of the home side.
When Taylor reduced the deficit just before the interval, and when the Dons resumed with a display of whirlwind tactics, it looked for a time as if they might prevail and get the win needed to take them into the quarter-finals.
